Strategies for Maternal and Child Healthcare
The 2011 Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS) was conducted at national level to gain insight into the demographic state of maternal and child health in Bangladesh. It focused on accumulating up-to-date information on fertility, child mortality, family planning methods, maternal and child health and attitude towards (Sexually transmitted infections) STIs such as HIV/AIDS at community level. The methods of data gathering included measurement of height and weight of 12-49 years old women, children under 6 as well as men and women of ever-married and never-married status. The information gathered from the survey is to be used evaluate and assist policy making and strategic program designing for future health and family planning services in Bangladesh.
